Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor [William Mitchinson] Hicks FRS |
Date | 10 January 1908 |
Description | Two notes were received this morning and a summons has been issued for a meeting of the Physics Committee for Wednesday next, at 2:30. With regard to postcards it is explained that they are part of a machinery for giving effect to standing orders, they inform the Chairman of the receipt of a paper, and give particulars to its cost and size. Harrison explains how the cards are used to make actions by either the secretary or the Chairman. The reply postcards are a very convenient form of having the decisions or wishes of the Chairman recorded and filed, Harrison hopes that Professor Hicks will maintain the system of reply postcards because it provides what has often been found to be a most useful record. |
