The above paper has been submitted to Professor R Meldon and referee and his support is entirely favourable to publication in full in the Proceedings [of the Royal Society]. The precedent has already been established for publishing the Rothamstead work through the Royal Society, but it appears to the referee that this work would more appropriately be made know to a large class of readers in a more distinctly agricultural publication. . It is desirable that the Lawes Trust should be in the position to publish their own results. It might be that the 'Trust' be asked to contribute towards the cost of publication by the Royal Society. In view of this report will the Chairman please state whether in his opinion the publication of the paper in the Proceedings may now be put in hand under standing order 33? |
