Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to The Right Honorable Lord Avebury, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 6 March 1908 |
Description | In response to Avebury's letter requesting that the Royal Society should appoint two or three of its members to attend the conference for the purpose of considering whether legislation is desirable to check the destruction of beautiful birds, Harrison informs that the Following have been asked to attend; John Rose Bradford, Colonel Bruce and Mr F R Beddard. There has been no opportunity to consult the Council of the Society on this matter and the Royal Society is generally unwilling to commit to any definitive line of action when there is much difference of opinion. The men attending will simply be there for the purpose of consultation on the subject. |
