We have received the enclosed letter from Monte Video, relating apparently to the proposed establishment of a Seismological Observatory there, and I am to ask if you will be good enough to let us have your opinion as to whether there is any means of satisfying the writer's requirements as regards instruments, and generally as to what is the best reply to send to the letter.'
