The Council left last week, when I brought forward your application with regard to the volumes of Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society] which Sir William Perkin had not received. It was agreed that the volume he might have claimed up to the date of his death be granted to his executors to complete the Library set. If, therefore, you will let me know where the volumes should be sent to I will look them out and have them despatched; but I am not authorised to prepay the carriage.' |
