Description'Dear Sir,
Your application for a grant of the Royal Society's publications have been under consideration, and I regret to inform you that having regard to the pressure on its funds the Society does not see its way to accede to your request to receive its publications gratuitously.
The Philosophical Transactions are on sale at moderate prices, advertised as the volumes and numbers come out, and the Proceedings may be subscribed for in advance at the low rate of 15/- per volume for Series A, and 20/- per volume for Series B.'
