In accordance with a suggestion of the Director of the National Physical Laboratory I send herewith the two platinum Standard Metres which belong to the Royal Society and which formed the subject of correspondence with you in 1907. Dr Glazebrook informs me that he has arranged with you to discuss these Standards in the light of the measurements already made of them in your Department and at the National Physical Laboratory.'
