TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Colyer care of Messrs Harrison & Sons
Date27 January 1891
DescriptionRix notes the printing connected with all the Royal Society Committee work is excellent in its speed and punctuality but there are a few points at which Colyer woefully fails. Firstly Colyer obediently clings to the superstition that a 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' paper must of necessity always remain in hand for four weeks at least[?] before a first proof is rendered. Secondly, the problem of the delay in the author's separate copies. The Royal Society is anxious that authors should have their copies before the number of 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' is risen and immediately the sheet is printed off.
