|Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]
|16 July 1890
|The Treasurer, John Evans, and Dr Foster have this morning interviewed Miss Chambers, a lady highly recommended by Dr and Mrs Huggins for the post rendered vacant by the death of Mr Holt. Rix is anxious that she should begin work upon the catalogue next week but the Treasurer wishes Rix first to acquaint his Lordship and the other Officers with his proposal, which is to engage her upon the work for three months on trial.
