TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Robert Henry Scott, Secretary to the Meteorological Council
DateDecember 1890
DescriptionIn a letter from the India Office dated 19th November addressed to the Secretary of the Royal Society, Mr Godley, by direction of the Secretary of State for India, transmits a copy of a letter from the Government of India relative to the proposed publication of the magnetic and meteorological observations taken in Trevandrum by the late Mr Allan Brown. From this copy letter it appears the Government of India are willing that the meteorological observations be published under the superintendence of Mr Eliot, but are unable to arrange publication of the magnetic observations and suggested these might be published in England. The letter concludes with a request that the manuscript meteorological observations be sent to the India Office for transmission and as Foster understands the manuscript is in Scott's hand, he requests that he carry this out request.
