In response to your letter of the 26th, I beg to say that we did receive a copy of Band LXXX of the Denk. d. Kais. Akad., which proves to be a duplicate and which we are accordingly returning as requested.
The first copy having been received by us so far back as 1907, the recollection of its receipt had passed from our minds and we placed our stamp and marks upon the new copy before discovering that it was a duplicate.
I regret this, but we return the volume nevertheless, as requested.' |
