TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Messrs Harrison & Sons
Date16 June 1910
Description'Re Proceedings [of the Royal Society] Cloth Case.
Sir J [Joseph] Larmor says will you either make the boards smaller or out the leaves less. The latter is much preferable, so as not to change height.
He thinks the projection at the fore-edge in particular, is too large, and makes the case look too big for the book, as does the large bowing at the back.
He also approves of using our own Proceedings paper for end-papers, and generally he thinkgs we should give bettwe workmanship in these respects for price charged.
Thus, instructions for future volumes are:- 1. The cases to be bettwe filled, by less cutting of leaves. 2. To be less margin at fore edges. 3. Back to be flatter. 4. End papers to be white.
Your samples returned herewith.'
