Description'The Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society presents his compliments to the Under Secretary of State for India and begs leave to acknowledge the receipt of his letter (R & S 1611) of July 30, with reference to the appointment of an Assistant Director at Kodaikanal Observatory.
In reply he has to inform him that enquiries are being instituted and that the result will be considered by the Observatories Committee early in October.'
