Date | 14 September 1910 |
Description | 'James encloses a letter from Captain Hamerton, with reference to the arrival of some guinea pigs and goats at Tilburg Docks, on Sunday next. After failing to contact Sir David Bruce James has organised that Mr J Wilson, together with two RAMC [Royal Army Medical Corps] men, is willing to come to Tilbury on Sunday and remove the animals to Millbank provided necessary clearing permits are obtained. According James called at the Board of Agriculture and saw Commander Chamberlain leaving copies of the letter, now enclosed, and they will do what they can at once for the Royal Society, but no definite assurance was give. In any case the Board would sent a veterinary officer to the Docks on Sunday next and James has reported this to Mr Wilson |
