| Description | In order to furnish the Meteorological Committee with a Programme of Works in time for the preparation of their estimates, this Programme ought to be considered by the Gassiot Committee well before the end of November. Before the Programme can be settled, the Committee must have a report from the Magnetic Sub-Committee. Mr Walker has drawn up a memo for that Sub-Committee, but it is considered pointless for them to meet without Schuster, so they would like to have an idea of when he is next in London. At Dr [William Napier] Shaw's instigation arrangements have already been made for a preliminary meeting of the Gassiot Committee this month. |
