TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Messrs Maunsell, Darley & Orpen
Date6 December 1910
DescriptionHarrison has their letter along with a copy of one from the Bank of Ireland regarding the designation of the Royal Society in a Request for the transmission of dividend warrants recently executed by President and Council. The practice of designating the Royal Society as 'The President, Council and Fellows of the Royal Society of London' is so old that it cannot presently be traced. It has been accepted by the Bank of England and all other banks in respect of thousands of pounds held under that name. The seal under which all deeds are executed bears the words 'pro Scientia naturali promovenda'.
