Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Charles James Martin, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 6 February 1911 |
Description | Miss Robertson's paper was communicated to the Royal Society for 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', but both the Biological Secretary and the Chairman of the appropriate Sectional Committee considered that it was too voluminous, both in text and illustrations, and so it was reported for 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]', and authorisation was given for publication.
The Standing Orders do not admit of so bulky a paper being passed for 'Proceedings' by the summary jurisdiction of the Chairman, and if he presses for it to be considered for that publication, it will have to be considered by the Sectional Committee. If Miss Robertson agrees to abbreviate the paper and reduce the illustrations, Harrison does not suppose objection would be taken to it being published in the 'Proceedings'. |
