Title | Copy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Professor George Downing Liveing, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 20 October 1910 |
Description | [William Mitchinson] Hicks was shown Liveing and Neville's reports on Hatfield's paper, and the paper was withdrawn. It seems he is a retired manufacturer, and the Committee thought he might be encouraged by getting a shorter account into 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' if he bore most of the cost of the plates. He is willing to do this, and the Committee would be glad of Liveing's advice as to whether the present paper should proceed. It seems desirable not to amend it substantially further. |
