| Description | The attention of the Tropical Diseases Committee of the Royal Society has been called to the desirability of an investigation into the disease 'Sand Fly Fever'. This disease causes much sickness during the summer months in the Mediterranean area and is not usually fatal.
Some investigations have already been carried out on the subject by Royal Army Medical Corps Officers; but the Royal consider that an extended enquiry could result in discoveries of successful preventative measures, as happened in the case of Mediterranean Fever.
The Secretary of the Royal Society is instructed to enquire whether the recipient will co-operate in appointing a commission for this purpose, and in providing financial support. |
