DescriptionThe correspondent is directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to refer to paragraph IV of the Report in question of the Executive Committee of the National Physical Laboratory on the need for addition buildings.
The correspondent gives the sums mentioned in the reports and writes that is Kew Observatory is handed over to the Meteorological Committee, according to the modification of the scheme, the alterations at Kew will not come in, which the letter from the Treasury seems to have overlooked.
The correspondent further communicated for the information of Their Lordships the opinion of the President and Council that economy in construction at the National Physical Laboratory has been pushed at least as far as seems suitable to a National Institution.
