In accordance with the suggestion of the Secretary (Dr J [John] R [Rose] B [Bradford]) approved by you, I am sending herewith the paper by Dr Kennedy communicated from the "Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]" for you considerations and report.
Prof J N Langley FRS, the first referee considered that the paper should be published in full: that no modifications are necessary: and that all the illustrations should be reproduced.'
