Description'In reply to your letter of Saturday, the only formal lectures delivered here are the Bakerian lecture and the Croonian lecture, but at every weekly meeting of the Society papers are read, and the list of such papers is advertised in advance every Tuesday in the "Times", as well as in "Nature" weekly. Strangers can be admitted to the meetings on the introduction of Fellow, and any serious student of science interested in securing admission to the meetings by writing beforehand and presenting his credentials, even if he be not personally acquainted with a Fellow of the Society who would introduce him.'
