Description'The application from the Committee of the Essex Field Club for a donation towards restoring the tombs of John Ray and Benjamin Allen and the erection at Braintree of a Memorial to Samuel Dale has been considered by the President and Council of the Royal Society, and I have the pleasure to inform you that the sum of £5 has been voted from the funds of the Society for the purposes above mentioned.'
