Description | In connection with the publication by the Royal Society of a paper by Sir Ray Lankester, Harrison has received from him the enclosed bull for work done by Gronvold. Lankester considers the charge of eight guineas excessive for the work done, and Harrison is bound to agree. The standard rate for a quarto plate drawing is £4 to four guineas, and Harrison is unable to pass bills at a higher rate than this apart from quite exceptional cases. As there is nothing exceptional about the plate, Harrison asks him to reduce the charge, and an account can then go forward for payment. |
