TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Oskar Backlund, Foreign Member of the Royal Society
Date7 June 1912
DescriptionIs obliged by his letter of 16 May, acknowledging the Royal Society's subscription to the International Association of Academies. The President of the Royal Society [Sir Archibald Geikie] would be much gratified by Backlund attending the 250th Anniversary celebrations as a delegate of the Imperial Academy of Sciences at St Petersburg.

Invitations went out some months ago to eight Universities of Russia, and two other institutions, and only Backlund's own and the Universities of Juriew and Warsaw have replied. Kharkoff, Kiew, Moscow, Odessa and St Petersburg and the Societe Imperiale des Naturalistes have not yet responded. Asks if it would be possible for him to stimulate a response from them.
