TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor [Arthur] Schuster
Date24 December 1912
Description'I have sent the advertisement to the Times for two insertions, and when I set about drawing up a brief not to send to them as news, and to ask the editor to insert it, I found myself blossoming into something after the fashion of the enclose. People at large know so little about these things that it occurred to me that no harm would be done by giving a few particulars of what Eskdalemuir observatory is, and how it came to be where it is; but if you think otherwise, please cut out anything you consider redundant, or if you on the other hand would like more said, expand it, and return the draft to me. You will observe that I have no mentioned Walker's name or his resignation.
With all good wishes for the season.'
