Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor [John Newport] Langley, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 1 August 1913 |
Description | The paper by Dr J O W Barratt on 'The Nature of the coagulant of viper venom' has been marked as suitable for publication in 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' under Standing Orders. On the suggestions of Dr C J Martin the reference to his work on page one has been slightly altered to rectify an inconsistency. Instead of 'viper venom' put 'the venom of the Australian black snake Notechis porphyraceus'. Martin points out that there are no vipers in Australia and that notechis is not a viperine snake.
It is also proposed to alter the title to 'The nature of the coagulant of the venom of Echis carinatus (a small Indian viper)'. Presumes there will be no objections to these small modifications. |
