TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix to the Herbert Rix, to the Secretary, Vienna Academy
Date4 February 1892
Description'Dear Sir,
In answer to your letter of January 31st, the Catalogue of Scientific Papers was despatched by our publisher, and not from the office. It had therefore escaped my notice that the volume was sent to you without being prepaid. We shall, of course, wish to treat the Vienna Academy in every way as they have the kindness to treat us; and if you will let me know the amount of the expense to which you have been put, it will immediately be forwarded to you by post office order.
I am, yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst Sec RS [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]

Do I understand that you are intending to send your 4to [quarto] publications by post? If so, we will of course send our Philosophical Transactions ['Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'] (4to) in the same way, but this was not part of our original request'.
