TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir William Bowman, Fellow of the Royal Society, Goldwynds, Dorking
Date4 March 1891
DescriptionRix notes that the portrait must have a plate-number, or be made the volume's frontispiece, with the latter being the better option. The volume in progress is volume 49, and Rix sketches a plan of how he images the headline of the portrait to appear.

He encloses a spare proof which he will explain later. Rix further notes that they print 1500 copies of the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' in addition to the separate copies which the author wants for his own use.
