TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to His Excellency Robert Halliday Gunning, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh

DescriptionFoster has been directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to inform Gunning that they have learnt of his generous wish to devote a fund for use under their guidance for the 'furtherance of Physical Sciences and Biology'. He states that they are willing to take on the trust and duties outlined in the draft bond, which was read to them at their meeting, and conveys their thanks for Gunning's offer.
