TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to W L Dallas, Indian Meteorological Office
Date2 December 1891
DescriptionRix responds to Dallas' letter of 11 November to inform him that his paper cannot be returned, as it will be preserved in the Royal Society archives and will not be allowed to leave the building, in line with regulations. The Council would grant leave for a copy to be taken at the author's expense. Rix offers to write to a couple of typewriting firms on Dallas's behalf if he does not know of any copyists, and gives the price of one shilling and six pence per 1000 words, exclusive of paper and expenses, as the cheapest price he has found for the copying of scientific manuscripts.
