TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Edgar Worthington, The Institution of Mechanical Engineers
Date9 October 1914
DescriptionIt would be quite in order for the Royal Society Council to consider the matter of Ellington's retirement from the National Physical Laboratory, and on receipt of a representation from their Council they would no doubt proceed to act on the section of the scheme they mention. The only concern it that it might seem that the Royal Society Council should take the initiative in consulting their Council, as they have the alternative power of selecting a successor direct from the General Board.
