TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to T H Middleton CB
Date25 January 1915
Description'In reply to your letter of January 20th asking for further information concerning the sum of £7500 estimate as necessary for the investigation into Swine Fever.
I enclose a brief outline of the scheme of work with details of the expenditure, which in the opinion of our Committee, must be allowed for.
The Governing Body of the Lister Institute is willing to help in every way. They have agreed to lend us the Yersin Laboratory at Elstree and to allow Mr Greenwood and Dr Atkin of their staff to assist in the investigation.
I understand, however, that other special work awaits Mr Greenwood; therefore if the Swine Fever Research is to be carried on at all, we must secure his services now.'
