DescriptionConveys the sympathy of the Council of the Society at the loss of one of the Academies des Sciences permanent secretaries, Mr. [Jean] Gaston Darboux. Notes that Mr. Darboux was an honoured foreign member of the Society, who expressed their appreciation of late by awarding him the Sylvester Medal. Also notes their appreciation of the role Mr. Darboux played in maintaining the friendly relations that exist between the Society and the Academie des Sciences.
