DescriptionAdvises there is no arrangement between Sir William Pope, FRS, Cambridge, and the Royal Society regarding a grant for research into colour sensitizer dyes that would prevent him from withdrawing an application for a grant, and that according to Clause 5 (a and b) of the conditions of the grant the Royal Society has not accepted responsibility regarding publication of the results of the research. He advises publication responsibility rests with the Department after consultation with the Royal Society, and the Council of the Royal Society would give due consideration to any proposal from the Advisory Council of the Scientific and Industrial Research Department.
