Title | Copy letter from Sir James Hopwood Jeans, FRS, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Dr JWL [James Whitbread Lee] Glaisher, FRS |
Date | 23 February 1920 |
Description | Thanks Glaisher for his valuable letter on publishing Newton's works. Says he thinks there could be no question of the publication of works on alchemy or theology, and he thinks the issue is likely to turn on [Sir Arthur] Schuster's, FRS, distinction between manuscripts that contain information of scientific interest and those of merely historical interest. Requests an estimate of the amount of manuscripts likely to be of scientific interest. Also thanks him for his report on Lt-Colonel Allen Cunninhgham's request for a publication grant. |
