Description | Reply to an enquiry from Mr. S. B. Gaythorpe into [John] Wallis, Horrocks and [Christian] Huygens. Informs him that the Letter-book, Volume One, he wants is the first of two volumes of Wallis letters in the Society's Library and contains 142 letters from 1662 to 1672. With regards to the meeting attended by Huyghens, at which the Horrocks manuscript was handed to him, regretfully informs him that they cannot find any trace of this. Provides details of the dates on which Huyghens was in London as possibile occassions for this transaction, but offers nothing concrete. |
