Title | Copy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [William Whitehead] Watts, FRS |
Date | 12 April 1922 |
Description | Informs Professor [William Whitehead] Watts that he is unable to help him with [Grove Karl] Gilbert's letter. Notes that the circumstances are curious because Gilbert died on the day of his election, February 28th, 1918, therefore the letter in question must have been one of the last he wrote. Further notes that the only record of action by the Society is a letter from Mr. [Robert William Frederick] Harrison to Professor Watts stating his intention to send Gilbert's diploma of Foreign Membership to his family in America as a keepsake. |
