Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Henry Reginald Arnulph] Mallock Esq,. FRS |
Date | 20 March 1924 |
Description | Replies that the Government Grant Committees met yesterday [19 March 1924] and that Henry Mallock's letter has been seen by the appropriate committee and not treated as a formal application. Informs of the Committee suggestion that Mallock purchase pure iron commercially in Germany rather than attempt to produce his own by the 'Thermit' Reaction, that Franz Fisher can provide samples that are 99.5% or 99.9% pure and for a small sum, and that he make a formal application for a small grant. Asks for Mallock to find out the exact costs and to write to Jeans to claim a grant of that amount. |
