Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Ernest Rutherford, FRS |
Date | 20 March 1924 |
Description | Informs that as the Government Grant Committee met yesterday, it is too late for Crowther to submit an application, states that is it possible to gain a grant form the Council Urgency Fund and the Caird Fund. Jeans suggests Crowther to write directly to him, explaining what he needs so Jeans can decide the most appropriate fund. Suggests that if the grant is not urgent, it will be better for Crowther to get settled in Reading first, as an application for an Urgency Fund straight after a Government Grant Committee meeting may not work in his favour. Ends with an enquiry into Rutherford's health. |
