DescriptionExplains that the Royal Society is sending a Commission to Northern China, comprised of Major [Walter Scott] Patton and Dr Edward Hindle, to study the Kala Azar disease. Asks if they can obtain facilities from the Chinese Embassy to enable the investigators to carry out this work. In particular asks for a document with both European and Chinese script for each of the members to carry about with them which explains the nature of their business in the country.
