Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to E. Barnard Esq.; Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Westminster, S.W.1. |
Date | 25 June 1925 |
Description | Informs Mr E. Barnard that the Physics Sub-Committee had rejected Mr Harrison's application because Jeans felt that Mr Dobson's work could be done quite well without an Assistant; however, since hearing that he has read an influential paper at the Royal Meteorological Society and is busy with this work, thinks that actually it would be advisable to let Dobson have the Assistant (Harrison) that he asked for. Discusses the applpication further. |
