Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 29 March 1893 |
Description | Rix explains that the Duke of Teck is not a member of the Royal Family.
The only other query related to Natural History Museum assistants, and Rix sees this is left as in the old list but has always been interpreted as meaning 'First Class Assistants'. Rix wonders if they should continue to interpret it in this way.
Rix thinks the following should be placed on the temporary list; Drake & Gorham, Arthur Keen, C B Lawes, and Mr Wheeler. The Prince of Wales declines, the Duke of Teck accepts [presumably to invitations to the Conversazione].
Rix asks what Foster means concerning the printing of expenditure in the Water Research reports. This year's reports are long since printed and distributed along with the applications. [Handwritten postscript illegible due to fading] |
