|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to W Hart, 161 Copenhagen Street, Caledonian Road, N.|
|Date||15 February 1894|
|Description||Rix has shown the pictures to the Royal Society's Treasurer [John Evans], and he has stated that he does not wish to purchase the portrait of Isaac Newton. With regard to the engraving of Sir Home Popham, which Evans valued at half a guinea, he states that although he believes the given price of a guinea to be expensive, he will pay it as long as the newspapers and other scraps are included.|
If Hart calls at the Society on any day except Saturday between 11 and 4, Rix will return the portrait and engravings of Newton and give him the guinea payment.
