Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society] |
Date | 23 February 1894 |
Description | Rix asks whether Sir Erasmus Ommanney should perhaps have been included on the Antarctic Committee, as he considers himself to be a particular authority on the subject.
He also states that Captain William de Wiveleselie Abney says they must have a second set of 'steps' on the other side of the lantern for an assistant, and that the screen needs to be painted square instead of round, and should be slightly larger. Lord Rayleigh believes they can go ahead with the screen as it is an inexpensive matter, but asks Foster if they may also put the steps in hand, so as to have them completed by 8 March.
With regard to the Catalogue committee minutes, Lord Rayleigh states that the words "and provisionally adopted" need to be removed, as it was not agreed to. |
