Description'Dear Sirs,
In answer to Mr Palgrave's note of the 23rd., I have to acknowledge on behalf of Sir John Evans (who is at present abroad) receipt of your draft for £50, repayment of balance of grant from the Scientific Relief Fund placed in Sir Joseph Hooker's hands. When Sir John Evans returns, in about a months time, the draft shall be endorsed and banked.
