TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir John Evans, [Treasurer, Royal Society]
Date26 July 1893
Description'Dear Sir John,
Inclosed herewith is estimate, [Rubert William] Boyce & [Nusserwangi Fakirgi] Surveyor. Dr Foster thinks it moderate, but wishes to know whether you object to spending this sum. Lot 818 on the inclosed leaf can be purchased for ten guineas. The owner altogether declines to take a farthing less; he says "it is the sum Sir Thos. Phillipps gave for them". Those marked with pencil would all be of interest to us. Please return the leaf, & say if I am to buy them.
Yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
