TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to George Handford
Date11 October 1893
DescriptionRix explains that the are making a new edition of the Catalogue of the Royal Society's portraits, and that a couple of the portraits are yet to be located. One of these is the portrait of Sir John Chardin presented by Handford in 1887; and he therefore asks if it actually came into the possession of the Society. The minutes they have only record that it was accepted and thanks returned, but there is no record of it having arrived. Rix wonders if Handford can shed light on the matter.
