TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Ephraim Cutter, 165th Street & Mott Avenue, New York
Date5 February 1894
DescriptionRix, having presented Cutter's letter to the Officers of the Royal Society, is instructed to thank him for the generous offer made by the Rumford Historical Association at Cutter's insistence. The case made from an ash tree which grew in front of Count Rumford's mansion is noted as 'a very interesting addition to our collection of relics' and a 'suitable receptacle' for the Society's example of the Rumford Medal.

Rix states that if Cutter will forward it to the Society, it will be presented at one of their meetings, and will there be fully appreciated.
