|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], Secretary, Royal Society|
|Date||20 April 1894|
Dr Foster instructs me to remind your Lordship that if you can find time to meet Prof. Silvanus Thompson about the Instruments while you are in town it will leave the coast clear to proceed with the Preparation Room at short notice. I learn from the Woodbury Co that cost of new negatives and proof would be 23/-. As this seems a trifling per centage of the whole, perhaps you will give me permission to carry out Prof. [Professor Joseph Norman] Lockyer's wishes?
